Erik Junius

I am Erik Junius, based in Asse and Malmedy – Belgium
For many decades, I have harboured a deep passion for photography.
First as a hobbyist, which then transformed into a professional career.

How it started…

During my business professional career, I was very often participating at international conferences with clients, where in 1998 I met Kevin Monoghan, a photographer from Massachusetts, USA.
Kevin specialised in photographing conferences trough shooting emotional portraits photos of the participants. His photography style greatly appealed to me, and I have been fortunate to consult Kevin as a photography teacher and coach for many years

Work Life Balance

While I held a busy full-time international job, I delved into photography on a semi-professional level in 2008. This semi-pro pursuit served as an ideal outlet, allowing me to disconnect from work on weekends and explore something entirely different. As a (semi) professional, commitment is essential, requiring unwavering focus to fulfill responsibilities. Beyond the technicalities of photography, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many intriguing individuals, each with their own unique life story.

The photostudio

IIn 2009, I constructed my own permanent photo studio, this made it easy to do photo shoot in a professional way.

In this studio, I have done an awful lot of portrait sessions, mostly capturing family portraits.

Not only does the studio offer a setting for portrait photography, but photo shoots conducted on location often exude more character, as they carry a more personal touch

I was also fascinated how, as a photographer, you can capture the emotions, of drivers, mechanics, and spectators. In 2010, I became a first-time accredited motorsport photographer.
As of 2018, I am an accredited FIA Formula 1 photographer. Since then, I have covered many F1 GPs worldwide. I try to put a special focus on portraits and the emotions of F1 drivers and their team members.
My F1 photos have been published in numerous international publications since 2018, which I am very proud of.
Also, my F1 work is for sale under the brand name “Grandprix Pixels“.

In 2023, I decided to boost “Image-ine Photography“.
Not just focused at mainly family portrait photoshoots, but I decided to focus as well on business photography. I believe that I’m fortunate to have acquired a unique combination of competences, as I can combine my passion for photography with the experience of the requirements and expectations of the business world, along with my incredible journey in the F1 world.
